Martian Sky has been awarded two NASA Phase I SBIR projects under his guidance: Decluttering Earth Orbit to Repurpose for Bespoke Innovative Technologies (DEORBIT) System for Low-Earth Orbit in 2021 and Vacuum Impregnation Process for Extraterrestrial Realization (VIPER) for ISS Commercial Development in 2020 as well as a SpaceWERX Orbital Prime Phase I for Robust Object Grasping Utilizing Estimated States (ROGUES) in 2022 and a Direct-to-Phase II in 2023 in the Orbital Prime Program for Client-Oriented Vision-Enhancing Recognition Technology (COVERT).
Prior to founding Martian Sky, he worked at Made In Space, Inc. (now Redwire Space, Inc.) managing or technically supporting NASA Phase I SBIR projects for (AMARU) In-Situ Monitoring and Process Control and The VULCAN Advanced Hybrid Manufacturing System, with The VULCAN Advanced Hybrid Manufacturing System being selected for Phase II . He has also managed a Phase I SBIR for the AFRL Horizon: Additive Manufacturing Qualification Measurement System, a DLA Phase I SBIR Additive Manufacturing Process Monitoring and Control where he was selected as the Phase II Principal Investigator, and a joint venture contract through Space Florida for Electronics Manufacturing in Microgravity for Aerospace (EMMA).
Mr. Marsh is a coinventor on System and method for hybrid additive and subtractive manufacturing with part movement (US Patent: 11097484) from work performed while at Made In Space, Inc. He presented the idea at the 2019 NSMMS CRASTE conference on The VULCAN Advanced Hybrid Manufacturing System.
