Francesco Cupertino
Francesco Cupertino graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari in 1997, where he is now a full professor of Converters, Machines, and Electric Drives.
He has spent his entire academic career at the University—as a student, a teacher, and, from 2019 to 2025, as Rector. During his tenure, he guided the institution through a period of significant transformation, strengthening the ties between the university, the business sector, and the local community.
Today, Cupertino continues to focus on research and innovation in the energy, aerospace, and electric mobility sectors, fostering public-private partnerships and supporting the development of startups and young researchers.
He is convinced that the future of the university lies in its ability to create connections—between people, knowledge, and opportunities.
