Joseph Palmowski
Joseph Palmowski is a Lead Systems Engineer at Honeybee Robotics, where he has spent the past eight years developing advanced robotic systems for space exploration. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida and his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska, where his thesis focused on a novel surgical robotics design.
Joseph began his career at Honeybee Robotics as a Project Mechanical Engineer, working primarily in R&D roles on exploration systems for the Moon and Mars. In this capacity, he supported the maturation of multiple technologies through TRL 6. He later transitioned into a Project Lead role, most notably leading RedWater, a Mars water-mining system designed to extract water from subsurface ice deposits in the Martian mid-latitudes to enable in-situ resource utilization (ISRU).
He currently serves as a Lead Systems Engineer within Honeybee’s R&D portfolio, while also contributing on the business development side of the company as a Senior Technologist. In this role, he helps shape strategy and proposals for robotic deep-drilling systems and next-generation exploration and space-mining technologies.
