Lawrence Helm
Larry Helm is an aerospace executive, who has worked over 30 years in civil space contracting, including 22 years at NASA Headquarters. Starting his career in requirements analysis and project management for science missions, Mr. Helm transitioned to human spaceflight as a management analyst. His HQ assignments took him to most Centers, in support of Agency program formulation and assessment for Rocket Propulsion Testing, Launch Services, Constellation and its successor programs; Commercial Crew and Cargo; Exploration Ground Systems; Artemis support elements (including facilities and infrastructure); Lunar Surface Systems; and technology development. He has co-authored Agency policy documents, and helped build business cases for new or evolving missions.
Since leaving NASA HQ, Larry has held executive positions with multiple companies, helping them evolve and mature their processes to align with Agency needs. He works as an independent consultant for large and small business, advising on NASA business development. He is the co-chair of the Professional Services Council (PSC) Vision Forum NASA Team, and an active member of Center and State space business councils. Mr. Helm also serves as a Director for the non-profit Institute for Digital Enterprise Advancement, a Huntsville-based think-tank focused on expanding opportunities to work with NASA. He is a published author on Cold War legacy, and holds a Masters in Strategic Policy from The George Washington University.
