McKenna Taylor

2024 Astronaut Scholar

McKenna Taylor is a Master’s student at the Florida Institute of Technology studying Cell and Molecular Biology. She received Bachelor’s degrees in Astronomy & Astrophysics and Astrobiology from Florida Tech in the Spring of 2025. Her current research is focused on studying the plant growth-promoting properties of bacteria taken from the International Space Station to examine their potential use in improving plant growth for long-term human spaceflight. She is a 2024 Astronaut Scholar and is currently serving as the Education and Outreach Coordinator on the American Society of Gravitational and Space Research Student Board. McKenna also spends her summers leading telescope tours with the astronomy outreach company Dark Ranger Telescope Tours.
