Master Sergeant Nathanael Kloeppel is a Space Force innovation leader and SpaceWERX Fellow dedicated to driving acquisition and accelerating commercial integration into national security space architecture. As the innovation lead for Space Launch Delta 45 Innovation Cell, he leads initiatives that leverage public-private partnerships to deliver fieldable capabilities aligned with operational needs.

Nathan’s work primarily focuses on utilizing the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program to engage nontraditional vendors and foster the development of cutting-edge technologies. Through his experience with SBIRs, he has developed a deep understanding of how these programs can serve as a bridge to other flexible acquisition pathways, such as Commercial Solutions Openings (CSOs) and Other Transactions (OTs). He emphasizes the importance of aligning these frameworks to accelerate the transition of innovative solutions from prototype to production.

Nathan’s unique perspective highlights the synergies between SBIRs, CSOs, and OTs, offering insights into how these pathways can be leveraged to drive innovation and deliver capabilities at the speed of need. His work bridges the gap between operational requirements and acquisition frameworks, ensuring that emerging technologies are effectively integrated into national security space architectures.
