Capt (Ret) Stephan Reckie
Stephan Reckie is a seasoned global investor, serial entrepreneur, and strategic connector specializing in early-stage ventures with exponential potential. As Executive Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Space, he leads one of the world’s most influential initiatives focused on building and scaling investment-ready companies in the emerging space economy. Stephan is also an advisor to Hypernova Fund, a VC Fund focused on high-growth, private space companies. Stephan is Chairman Emeritus of Space Nation, a space exploration training company that offers simulated space missions for future astronauts, teams, leaders, and adventurers to help humanity expand beyond Earth
Stephan is the co-founder of Angelus Funding, a global angel investment syndicate built on trust and integrity, which supports high-growth startups addressing critical global challenges. With a sharp eye for innovation and impact, he plays an active role in the Global Business Angels Network and the European Business Angels Network Space and Defense Executive Committee, shaping policy and funding pathways for the next generation of breakthrough technologies.
His investment philosophy is rooted in fostering scalable, sustainable, and impactful ventures. As CEO of the non-profit Transform Poverty Global, Stephan invests in market-based solutions to poverty, demonstrating his commitment to both financial and social returns. He also holds board seats at forward-thinking organizations, including the Beyond Earth Institute, Spring Health India, and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), where he advises on growth strategies and capital structuring.
Stephan’s operating experience spans executive leadership roles at cutting-edge tech firms, including DigiLink Software, Ittiam Systems, and BiCom. He was the founding Director of EMEA Operations at Telogy Networks, where he played a key role in scaling international operations, culminating in a successful acquisition by Texas Instruments.
As an adjunct professor at Gonzaga University and the University of Denver, Stephan has taught entrepreneurial sales and investment-readiness to MBA candidates, sharing decades of real-world knowledge. He holds both a Bachelor's and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. He brings a global perspective to investing as a multilingual, second-generation Armenian-Russian, and native New Yorker.
