Virgil Virga Jr
Virgil Virga is President and Co-Founder of Metronome LLC, a fast-growing digital modernization firm serving the Department of Defense and U.S. Space Force. An engineer-turned-entrepreneur, Virgil built Metronome from his garage into a thriving federal software contractor with more than 100 team members.
Under his leadership, Metronome was recently selected as prime for the Space Force’s SBIR Phase III “El Kamino” program—transitioning from subcontractor to prime in a move that reflects the growing use of Commercial Solutions Openings (CSOs) and Other Transactions (OTs) to accelerate capability delivery.
Virgil is a recognized voice in the federal innovation community and an advocate for acquisition reform. He brings firsthand experience navigating procurement under 10 U.S.C. § 3458 and § 4022, and offers a practitioner’s perspective on what it takes to succeed as a nontraditional vendor within CSO/OT frameworks.
As a panelist, Virgil offers valuable insight into how small businesses can collaborate with government customers, overcome structural procurement barriers, and scale dual-use capabilities in support of national defense.
